Mucho More About Here: http://costadelsolfuengirola.info/
During your holiday in Marbella you’ll probably want to spend a lot of time lying on the beach and enjoying the warm sunshine of the Costa del Sol. And why not? After all, that’s one of the things that Marbella does best! But we would hate for you to go all the way to this fantastic town on your vacation and not take in a few of the other delights that it has to offer. Here are five of the must-see places that you should really try to check out in between sunbathing on the beach and eating in tasty restaurants during your holiday in Marbella.
1. Puerto Banus
The de facto centre of the mega-rich scene, Puerto Banus is known around the world as a representation of the height of excess. Huge and expensive yachts, the rich and famous strolling about showing off their finery – it is a people watcher’s dream. When you visit the area during your holiday in Marbella, we’d recommend that you just find yourself a comfortable seat in one of many the bars or restaurants and simply watch the ‘other’ world go by. When you get bored of that there’s plenty to see and do, including a casino if you want to try your luck. Or alternatively just stand back and watch as fortunes are made and lost on the spin of a roulette wheel.
2. Old Town
Casco Antiguo is the old town of Marbella, and we highly recommend that you spend a good amount of time here during your vacation in Marbella. Whereas Puerto Banus is lavish and brash, Casco Antiguo is the complete opposite. Charming little streets, tiny boutique shops, hidden treasures to find around every corner – you could easily spend a good few hours just wondering around and getting lost. It’s a great place to relax and get away from the beach crowds, so make sure you spend at least some time here during your holiday.
3. Bonsai Museum
The Bonsai Museum is one of the hidden gems of Marbella. Although you were probably not thinking about bonsais when you booked your holiday in Marbella, this is a real treat for anyone with an interest in the natural world. With hundreds of specimens of bonsai trees of numerous species, the museum is a treasure trove of intriguing vegetation. The central water display and the attractive rocks make wandering around a pleasant experience, and it also houses one of the most important wild olive tree collections in the world.
4. La Alameda Park
Alameda Park provides you with another great option for getting away from it all. This 18th century park has undergone many changes over the years, increasing in size at one time up to 20,000 square metres. Now it is simply an attractive and spacious park containing a variety of tree species, and relaxing in their cool shade is a great way to enjoy your siesta. The large fountain provides a good central focus, and you can finish off your stay with a trip to the famous Marbella Café in the corner of the park.
5. Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación
The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación represents one of the most attractive architectural features of the town, and we’d suggest you take an hour or to visit it during your vacation in Marbella. Construction of the church began in 1618, and after nearly four centuries it is still standing firm – that despite its interior having to be completely renovated following the Spanish Civil War. Its huge organ is impressive, and you will also find an altarpiece dating from 1940 that is devoted to Saint Bernabe, the patron saint of Marbella.
